Biography – Stephen Jackson
Stephen Jackson has been a successful entrepreneur involved in the successful launch of 3 companies.
Stephen and wife Jennifer started their first company Jackson & Jackson Management Plus, Inc. in 1991. Drawing on their experience in technology, marketing and sales this groundbreaking employee leasing company grew into one of the largest employee leasing firms in the state. Before they sold Jackson & Jackson in 1996 the company had grossed more than $4million in sales, managed more than 2,500 employees in the tri-state area and was the winner of the 1995 New York City Emerging Business Enterprise Award, that was presented by the New York City Department of Business Services.
Soon after selling Jackson & Jackson Management Plus, Inc., Stephen started hypeitup.com, Inc., an award winning website development company. Hypeitup.com provided complete Internet presence development from design to market implementation. During Mr. Jackson’s ownership of hypeitup.com, Inc., the company became a leader in the streaming media industry as developers, producers, and programmers of streaming media content for the Internet. Stephen produced the Network Journal’s website the second African American publication to have a website presence www.tnj.com
However, it was streaming media that caught Stephen’s eye and by 1998 Stephen & Jennifer were producing webcasts for Bill McCreary making him the first news journalist to have a weekly Internet video published. They were also the first to produce a live webcast for an African American organization in 1998.
Stephen was named the “Distinguished New Media Professional“ by the Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing Excellence (P.R.A.M.E.) Awards at their 1998 banquet.
Mr. Jackson created a 37-page Internet marketing workbook and 3 hour course for teaching “Successful Internet Marketing Strategies.” This course was conducted
for three years in New York City, and was expanded in the last quarter of 1998 to five additional cities. Stephen produced successful Internet workshops for hundreds of companies and individuals that have gone on and developed successful Internet strategies as a result.
After selling hypeitup.com, Inc., Stephen consulted several Internet startup companies like Parlo, Inc. a company that provides online language courses.
In 2000 Stephen was able to combine his love of production and streaming media when he joined iClips, Inc. in the startup phase as a Director of Integration. The company provided streaming media tools and integration. Stephen Jackson helped hire and train the teams that integrated iClips technology into some of the leading web portals like The Globe, NBCi, Snowball Properties, and Yahoo. Stephen also assisted the company with raising capital that led to $5million in first round funding.
Stephen officially began his 3rd company RoaDDoggZ productions in 2003 when Pernod Ricard USA distributors of Seagram’s Gin asked RoaDDoggZ founders Jennifer Young and Stephen Jackson to manage their annual concert tour.
The couple actually began work on the tour in 2001 when now CEO Jennifer Young and General Manager Stephen Jackson were asked by Seagram’s Gin to develop an interactive attraction for their 24 city tour. Based on the success of their work with the Seagram’s Gin Tour the couple was asked to manage the interactive production of the tour and have been since 2003.
After forming the company Stephen and Jennifer produced award shows for film festivals, a 27 campus college bus tour, corporate meetings and they’ve produced more than two dozen corporate videos. RoaDDoggZ productions won several industry awards for video production over the years and they continue to push the envelope on video production.
Mr. Stephen Jackson holds a degree in Computer Science from the City College of New York.

Stephen Jackson has given many successful seminars and workshops on Internet Marketing throughout the years. Some of the seminars he conducted were for the New York City Office of the Comptroller, New York City Department of Business Services, New York State Dormitory Authority, St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Institute for Free Entrepreneurship, Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) and the Healthcare Advisory Council. In addition he has given several customized training courses and workshops for corporations and organizations.
Stephen Jackson served as secretary of Community Board #3 in Manhattan where he lives and works. Mr. Jackson was a member of the New York City Department of Business Services Small Business Advisory Panel and the Mayor’s Small Business Advisory Board.
